What We Do
Our Approach
Our Mission
Working in the Greater Los Angeles community, we help remove physical, cultural, attitudinal and legal obstacles so people with developmental disabilities have every opportunity to live meaningful and productive lives, on their own terms. We exist to provide the best services and opportunities to them.
Together we can change the way the world defines and views disability.
Community Outreach Resource Development Center
CORD is committed to ensuring that all people with developmental disabilities have the right to equal opportunity, to be economically self-sufficient, and to earn and save without jeopardizing access to the services and supports that allow them to live and work independently. We work with local employers and a growing network of local, state, and federal support organizations to provide the unparalleled assistance and support services crucial to helping our clients in achieving these goals.
CORD’s programs include supported employment, job placement, and external situational assessment. Clients are placed in competitive paying jobs at local community businesses. At no cost to the employer, professional employment support specialists work alongside CORD’s clients providing training and assistance to help them learn the job and perform up to the employer’s standards and expectations.
